The better characterization of molecular mechanisms involved in melanoma carcinogenesis and understanding of how cancer cells Interact with the immune system brought a new reality for physicians and researchers involved in the care of patients with melanoma.
Over the past years, the incorporation into clinical practice of therapeutic options has increased the complexity of treatment algorithms and has led to an unprecedented paradigm shift for patients with advanced disease, and more recently, for those candidates for adjuvant therapies.
